Vancouver Design Week: A City-Wide Festival
Vancouver Design Week (VDW) is back and ready to inspire! This city-wide festival celebrates the creative spirit of Vancouver through a week-long program of design events, workshops, talks, and exhibitions. From April 29 to May 5, 2019, VDW brings together designers, artists, and enthusiasts from all walks of life to explore the transformative power of design.
As a collaborative platform, VDW invites everyone to immerse themselves in the world of design and its impact on our daily lives. Last year, over 380 designers participated in more than 111 events under the theme "Impact." This year, the focus shifts from growth to depth, with local designers co-directing and curating a more meaningful and thought-provoking program.
Vancouver Design Week is organized by the Vancouver Design Foundation (VDF), a non-profit committed to enhancing the region's design identity and ecosystem. The foundation focuses on four key areas: social innovation, creativity and culture, the built environment, and public engagement. Through various initiatives and campaigns, VDF works to raise awareness about the value of design in shaping our communities.
Whether you're a designer, artist, or simply someone passionate about creativity, there are many ways to get involved. From hosting an event to volunteering or even sponsoring, your contribution can help make this year’s festival even more impactful.
