Easter Crackers Craft For Kids
One of my favorite Easter crafts from last year was definitely the Easter Crackers we made. I distinctly remember putting them together just before Easter, but for some reason, I never got around to writing about them. Last Christmas, I created some snow globe Christmas crackers, which were absolutely adorable and even earned me a prize! That experience convinced me to give Easter a try.
Unfortunately, I don’t have many photos of the entire process this time around. I had planned on making more to document everything, but life got busy. Still, if you check out my earlier post, you’ll find a comprehensive step-by-step guide.
The transparent Easter crackers turned out beautifully, as you can see from the images. They’re not only fun to make but also serve as fantastic table decorations for an Easter meal.
For materials, you’ll need:
- Clear cellophane
- Acetate sheets
- Yarn
- Ribbon (in Easter colors)
- Glitter and sequins (gold adds a touch of elegance)
- Chocolate Easter eggs
- Mini Easter chicks
To make your own Easter crackers, start by creating a clear tube using acetate. Once you’ve formed the tube, fill it with your chosen Easter treats. Next, wrap the tube with a slightly larger piece of cellophane. If you have access to a perforation cutter, use it to create slits along the cellophane where the ribbon will go; this ensures the cracker will pop open when pulled. Otherwise, you can still tie the ends with ribbon and enjoy the effect.
We finished ours off with Easter-themed stickers. The girls loved their crackers, eagerly counting the number of eggs and chicks inside.
These crackers added a delightful touch to our Easter lunch table, complete with boiled eggs and carrot-shaped toast soldiers. It was such a charming way to celebrate the holiday.
If you're looking for more Easter-themed activities, there are plenty of ideas to explore. From crafting Easter bunny gingerbread houses to making Easter egg truffles, there’s something for everyone. And let’s not forget the fun of watching Easter movies with the family!
Creating these Easter crackers was a rewarding experience, and I hope you’ll give it a try too. Whether you’re making them with kids or as a surprise for loved ones, they’re sure to bring a smile to everyone’s faces.
