New E4/4-Light Chain

Whether in the frequent short-stroke high-speed operation or other various situations, the energy transmission and protection of the energy must ensure its high efficiency and stability. At this point, the user needs a light and stable flexible energy supply system. For example, for a machine tool, the weight of the filler gradually increases, and better guidance is required when it is used vacant. In order to meet these numerous applications, igus has recently developed a new towline system, the E4/4-Light Trailer System. It is a new system of thin wall and compact design. The E4/4-Light launch fills the product gap between the E4/4 system (high stability) and the E4-light (high weight) in the igus product line.



Embedded design ensures high stability
The high stability of the E4/4-light chainstay system is primarily due to the use of a special embedded design (patent pending) - a very strong bolt and hole fit. Just like the clasped hands, this connection makes the connection between the links more stable. As a result, the lateral stability of the drag chain system has been considerably enhanced and the links between the links have become tighter. Due to the significantly increased lateral stability, the E4/4-light chainstay system is particularly suitable for applications such as lateral installations (machine tools, etc.) and can also be applied to applications with high distortion.

Another important feature of this new type of drag chain is to optimize the proportion of inside and outside dimensions. In the case of a certain inner height (56 to 112 mm) and inner width (50 to 600 mm), the outer dimensions are as small as possible, which is comparable to that of the E4-light type. The reason why this new igus tow chain can achieve such a thin wall thickness is mainly due to the increased internal rear limit blocks. The result is that this E4/4-Light Trailer adds only a little weight, while remaining quiet and accommodating greater driving power and therefore more efficient.

The advantages of this new type of drag chain also include: rapid installation - modular internal partitions, optimized de-stressed cable clamps and side-mounting.
