Creo launches new flexo prepress solution for flexo printers

FLEXO 2003 Birmingham, UK (March 4, 2003) – Creo Inc. (Nasdaq: CREO; Toronto Stock Exchange Code: CRE) Brings New Brands to Flexo 2003 Flexo Printing in Birmingham, UK in March of this year Prepress solutions and industry resources made their debut.

The experts of Creo European Packaging Department David McBeth and Amnon Shalev introduced the next-generation sleeve imaging model, the ThermoFlex thermal imaging device. This model can be imaged on a digital flexo plate or film, up to 1321 x 2032 mm, which can meet different production requirements and is ideal for digital manufacturing of paper products processing plants and plate making centers.

The new Thermosflex flexo platesetter can significantly increase the current production capacity of platemaking workflows. The sleeve has an automatic download system that avoids damaging the digital surface of the sleeve and improves the efficiency of the upper and lower rollers. This system is also very practical for plate coating and UV exposure.

The appearance of a single imaging drum on the imaging device greatly promoted the sleeve to sleeve operating mode. Within 3 minutes, the drums can be separated and can be installed in the imaging machine without moving the equipment, greatly reducing the cost and space, enabling small-scale plate-making centers and paper product processors to enjoy this technology.

The new Thermal Platesetter also includes a semi-automatic plate imaging to sleeve imaging changer that can be used in both seamless digital photopolymer plates and digital plates to sleeves (POS). Acceptable sleeve widths To 1050 mm, to 1829 mm. The productivity of sleeve imaging is equivalent to or even exceeds the current plate imaging specifications (2.75 lines per minute) and is believed to be the fastest in current sleeve imaging.

The new screening technology Creo introduced MaxTone screening technology, which is tailor-made for flexo printing. MaxTone allows the user to define a micron-sized minimum halftone dot size, and allows the screening engine to remove halftone dottones in a random manner while ensuring that each dot is larger than the specified dot to maintain overall tone integrity In this way, the highlights can be reproduced very well. At present, MaxTone is the optional project of Prinergy Power Packing Workflow version 2.1.

The new trapping technology PRINERGY Power Packing Edition 2.1 workflow also uses a new trapping technology that will replace the existing screening method. This is a trapping program developed by Creo that is easy to use and fully compatible with existing Prinergy workflows.

Brand new even drying function
The latest version of Pandora's automatic typesetting software has added a number of continuous drying tools, which are believed to be welcomed by flexo and paper product processors. Pandora 2.0 now supports JDF-formatted documents, which are the industry's standard documents for exchanging data and transferring information in workflows. This will make it easier for Pandora to integrate into existing workflows, such as WinPackage, Prinergy Power. Packing version and other workflows. Other features include:
* Can edit non-rectangular bleeding path model line information directly from CAD
* Bleeding overlap monitoring: Automatic monitoring of bleeding and correcting overlaps for ease of use
* Through the automatic stamper digital sign transfer molding instructions
* Die image: Designed for double-sided stampers

FLEXO 2003 show live demonstration Creo shows two packaging workflows: Win Win Packing and Prinergy Power Pack. WinWin Packer is a CT/LW packaging workflow solution with multiple "one-time, multiple-use" features that can drive proofing and imaging equipment such as flexo screening and warping.

Prinergy Power Packing Edition is a PDF-based workflow with an automated management system designed for packaging companies, printing plants, and platemaking centers. Prinergy Power Pack is based on the Prinergy workflow and uses industry-standard document formats such as Adobe Extreme, PDF, PJTF, JDF and Oracle to create a predictable, controllable production environment. The production process is achieved in one go, effectively reducing error. The special function for flexo printing is the layout zoom function (raster zoom), which ensures that the dot structure on the substrate in the entire workflow is a set shape.

Creo also demonstrated the Synapse InSite network interface software. InSite's network interface is an Internet portal that interfaces with the prepress system, effectively reducing production cycles. Whenever and wherever, as long as there is the Internet, customers and service representatives can send print jobs, track print information, and cooperate with the manuscript creators or printers to receive first-hand print information in a timely manner. Ensure smooth communication and create a safe and harmonious working atmosphere. Integrity's network interface is compatible with Winpack and Prinergy Power Pack, making the interaction between the platemaking center, paper product processors and customers more efficient.

Creo also demonstrated the Heat God Medium Format Platesetter, designed for high quality, medium format flexo printing. Because the requirements of flexo printers and platemaking centers are not the same as those of other printers, Thermal Power has specifically added some functions to ensure that flexible printing is a controllable and digital flexible platemaking process. The Heater System improves the flexographic printing quality, shortens the production cycle, and improves the controllability of the entire process by reducing the variable factors of the entire process. The Heater Narrows Direct Plate Machine is tailor-made for trademark labels and narrow-width markets.

No need to chemically process film. Creo now introduces PCI Laser Point II film, which means that thermal imaging does not require chemical processing of film. This thermal film can be processed in sunlight, which is longer than silver salt film and more scratch resistant. The separable part of the film prevents air from getting between the film and the printing plate. This means that PCI laser Point II film and most printing plates are suitable. Since this film does not need to be processed, the cost of chemical and waste disposal is correspondingly saved. The PCI Laser Point II film can satisfy various sizes of plates, up to 1321 x 2032 mm, and has been highly praised by the Creo Thermal Narrow and Wide Platesetter.
