Switzerland and Japan cooperate to develop commercial packaging technology

Sweden, Japan co-developed commercial automated packaging technology The Rotena Luz Foundation of Sweden and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan have researched and developed a new commercial packaging technology that is ready for use in department stores and shopping malls. This new technology can speed up the sale of goods, shorten the time of each transaction by 30%, and can greatly reduce the salesperson's labor intensity.

The new packaging technology is generally like this: A packaging cabinet is installed at the business counter to receive the goods that the customer has chosen. The bottom of the packaging cabinet can be raised and lowered to adjust the height according to the size of the goods to be packaged. Under the packing cabinet, a polyethylene plastic tube for loading goods is sleeved. The length and width of the plastic tube are selected by the pack dispenser. The package dispenser is attached to a specially designed automatic recorder that controls a 320 mm wide spool of plastic tubing and a pair of closed brake pads. The plastic packaging that is tailored to the exact size of the goods the customer purchases can completely overcome the waste problem of traditional packaging. Because according to the research, the average volumetric capacity utilization rate of the average bag is only 65%.

The above-mentioned automated packaging system has been patented in 32 countries. The prototype of the device has also been tested in Japan for one year and will be used in Sweden, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
