Verification of sensitivity and discrimination of electronic analytical balance

According to the instructions in "No76-1 International Recommendations", sensitivity refers to the indication value change (ΔL) that can occur for a given weight change (Δm). The discriminating power is to characterize the scale's ability to respond to small loads, that is, how much weight needs to be added to cause a noticeable change in the scale's indication. For electronic balances, discriminatory power is a meaningful concept, while sensitivity has no practical meaning. Therefore, the inspector should not misunderstand because the two are listed together in the regulations.

The identification of the electronic balance in use is usually allowed to be simplified, that is, to choose a balance that is in equilibrium when it is empty or fully loaded, and use a small weight of 1.4d to gently add it to the balance. Take it on or take it off. At this time, the original balance display value should be changed (see Table 15 in JJG98-90 for the specific process). In general, there is no problem with the discrimination of the electronic balance in use, so the regulations state that for electronic balances with d≤1mg or e> 2d, it is allowed to exempt their discrimination.
